Fully Automatic Ultrasonic Stencil Cleaner
Programmable Wash & Rinse Cycles
Front Loading
Fully Enclosed Washing and Rinsing
Vent to Remove Odors and Vapors
Stainless Steel Construction
The ErgoSonic is a fully automatic and fully enclosed ultrasonic stencil cleaner. The operator loads the stencil into an empty chamber and selects the desired cleaning profile. The wash solution is uploaded to the wash chamber from a built-in reservoir and down loaded through a filtration system to the same reservoir after the wash cycle. The stencil is then spray rinsed and the cycle is complete. The total wash / rinse cycle time is approximately 10 minutes. The stencil is then removed and placed in the optional drying rack. Stencils are heat-sensitive and should not be dried using elevated temperatures. The ErgoSonic Stencil Cleaner is recommended for users desiring full automation and cleaning less than 20 stencils and/or pallets per day.

The ErgoSonic automatic stencil and pallet cleaner combines the cleaning efficiency of ultrasonic technology with the convenience of front-loading! The unique design of the ErgoSonic Stencil Cleaner facilitates front-loading of the stencil at a safe and comfortable height and does not require a stencil basket. The ErgoSonic is fully automatic, programmable, compatible with many closed-looped cleaning chemistries and can be completely self-contained – not requiring a drain. The operator simply places the stencil into an empty process chamber, closes the door and presses the start button. The ultrasonic wash and spray rinse cycle is completed in just minutes. The user never comes in contact with cleaning chemistries, vapors or contaminated waste streams.
Other top-loading stencil cleaners require the operator to lift the stencil and stencil basket over tall wash tanks causing a conflict with OSHA safety regulations. Unconventional lifting, awkward loading platforms, heavy stencil baskets and drain disposal can be completely eliminated by the ErgoSonic Stencil Cleaner.
Like all Smart Sonic Stencil Cleaners, when using 440-R SMT Detergent, the ErgoSonic is guaranteed to clean any type of solder paste from any fine-pitched stencil.
Stencil Cleaner Maintenance and Operation
Maintenance of the ErgoSonic is also very easy. When cleaning solder paste, the 440-R SMT Detergent wash solution is drained only once every couple of weeks. The waste solder paste is “flushed” out and contained in a gravity trap where it is easily removed for recycling or disposal. Then, fresh wash solution is then added to the wash tank and the system is ready to use. When using an optional wastewater evaporator, there is no liquid hazardous waste disposal and no resin filters because nothing is discharged to drain.
Bag Filters
Wash solution is filtered while transferred to the holding reservoir or sent to the evaporator / EnviroGuard.
Smart Sonic provides a complete turnkey solution for Stencil Cleaning. While other companies only provide one phase of the stencil cleaning process, Smart Sonic ensures that you will achieve effective ultrasonic cleaning with a powerful, but environmentally safe detergent to clean all solder pastes.
Ultrasonic Stencil Cleaning
Smart Sonic offers a wide array of ultrasonic equipment, from fully automatic stencil cleaners to semi-automatic stencil cleaners.
Smart Sonic Stencil Cleaners are able to clean any type of solder paste from any fine pitch stencil, at the same time its low power density is safe for cleaning misprinted PCBs and pallets. Its low-temperature cleaning conserves energy and protects stencils from heat distortion and adhesive failure.
All Smart Sonics Stencil Cleaners are able to communicate with an EnviroGuard System or a Smart Sonic Evaporator. This provides for a more automated and environmentally friendly Closed-loop Stencil Cleaning System.
SMT Detergent
Smart Sonic’s 440-R SMT Detergent is the workhorse of the Smart Sonic Process. 440-R is an effective chemistry for cleaning all types of solder paste.
More importantly, 440-R does not contain any Volatile Organic Compounds (Zero-VOC), which means that Smart Sonic is able to treat the wastewater through evaporation or through resin filters.
Other SMT detergents contain volatile compounds which are hazardous to evaporate or require more complex wastewater filtration.
Water Treatment
Smart Sonic provides two methods for treating SMT wastewater. Our most popular method is with the Model EZ-0 and the Model SE-1 evaporators. Wastewater is heated and evaporated through an exhaust duct. After the water is evaporated, you can easily dispose of the remaining solids.
Smart Sonic offers wastewater treatment through carbon and resin filters with our EnvrioGuard System. Our filter will catch any solder paste or harmful chemicals, and it can provide an additional source for Deionized (DI) water. This method is more popular where our clients don’t have a suitable means to exhaust vapor for an evaporator or have limited access to DI water.
